Island Safari Lodge

We had a very pleasant stay at the Island Safari Lodge, the rooms were comfortable and the food was good. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We also had a great Sunset cruise with Cobra, who showed us the birdlife of the delta.

We stayed at Island Safari Lodge for 2 days to see a slice of the Delta. It was lovely and the staff were attentive and the service was very good. The gardens and the property itself were tranquil and lovely and we enjoyed our stay there. They organised our mokoro trip well and it was done well barring one error on the packed lunch. Despite specifying the need for a vegetarian lunch, they packed us meat sandwiches which was a let down especially when you are quite hungry after a long hike. The rooms were comfortable and clean though they looked like they have seen better days! But no complaints on the room itself. The one thing I would suggest for the lodge to offer guests for these trips is the option to support the lunch of the poler if its the mokoro trip. The poler had no food whatsoever and was extremely grateful for the sandwiches we offered. The island is literally middle of nowhere and there is no option to even offer him money to pick something up and quite embarrassing to be eating all the lunch yourself without offering him something. If the guest does not want to pay for the poler's lunch its their choice, but it would be nice to have that option or the cost of the trip to include lunch for him/ her.

I had a wonderful time...I'll come back as I didn't see the Delta.

Our second stay over and, once again, a lovely place to stay. Loved the chalet's atmosphere. The food was excellent. I would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Maun. As a family, we were well-accommodated and comfortable.

We arrived quite late at the lodge as we were delayed at the border for 4 hours. Arrived at the Lodge and the restaurant staff stayed open later than normal to serve us a wonderful dinner. Staff were very accommodating and, except for the mosquitos, we were very comfortable in a clean, neat room which one can see was recently renovated. The children loved their "camp" beds and we wish we could've stayed longer as we were only there for one night. Buffet breakfast was tasty and more than enough.
