Description
Hoekfontein Oxwagon Camp is surrounded by sandstone mountains and offers a very interesting and unique accommodation experience in eight original historic wagons, some over 100 years old, and two rondavels.
Our ox wagons are all comfortably furnished and are ideal for a family holiday or school tour. While not exactly 5 Star accommodation, these basic units are great fun. The wagons are located near a communal ablution facility with six bucket showers, and a lapa with barbecue facilities as well as a separate communal kitchen are available for guests' use.
The farm offers a variety of activities, including a cement farm dam to swim in and walking trails to explore. Other group activities can be arranged on request, such as a wagon wheel challenge, abseiling and paintball. Guests need to bring their own food, drinks, crockery and cutlery as well as barbecue equipment. This is a campsite, so guests also need to bring their own bedding and towels.
