Description
Hillside Lodge is a restored turn of the century farmhouse located on a smallholding outside Bulwer, overlooking Bulwer Mountain and adjoining 800 hectares of indigenous forest.
The lodge features beautiful yellowwood floors and ceilings, three modern bathrooms, four double bedrooms each opening onto the verandah, a large lounge with fireplace, and a fully-equipped kitchen with dining room table for 10 opening onto a grape-covered pergola with large outdoor table and seating.
Accommodation is provided on either a self-catering or full/part catering basis with services by a trained chef available. Towels, linen, and firewood provided and the unit is serviced daily.
The area is a birder's paradise, with the Cape parrot in attendance daily. Activities include walking in the indigenous forest and paragliding off Bulwer Mountain, or bring your quad bikes and use the 35 km track on the adjoining farm.
Nestled in the Magwaqa Valley, the lodge is located 12 km outside Bulwer in the Southern Drakensberg - a comfortable two hour drive from Durban.
