Highlands Farm Estate

Van Reenen’s Pass has some of the most gorgeous views and is the main route through the Drakensberg Mountains connecting Johannesburg and Durban. This little town is perched on the high summit of the pass, between Harrismith and Ladysmith on the N3.

The farmhouse has four bedrooms. Each room has either double or twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. There is a 10-seater dining table that opens onto the patio, a lounge providing a TV with DStv and a lovely fireplace for those chilly days and nights. The house boasts beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys below. There are also conference facilities for up to 14 people.

Van Reenen has a history steeped in the Anglo Boer War and a lookout point called “Windy Corner” which is about 3 km out of town with views over the mountains and lower lying regions. There is also the Llandaff Oratory - a small chapel with only eight seats built by a father in memory of his son, and ostensibly the smallest Roman Catholic Church in the world.
