Heuwelsig Plaashuis is situated on a working farm sporting the same name, nestled in the magnificent Franschhoek Valley, only 45 minutes from Cape Town. This attractive property was recently restored and extended from the original farmhouse to offer self-catering accommodation in three luxury suites, sleeping up to six people. Heuwelsig is located 5 km outside the town of Franschhoek, offering you the serenity of farm living, but also the convenience and easy access to Franschhoek and its superb restaurants and cultural attractions.

Franschhoek owes its existence to the French Huguenots, who fled their homeland in the late 1600’s, when Protestantism was outlawed. Today, Franschhoek is known as "The Gourmet Capital of South Africa", with eight of South Africa’s Top 100 Restaurants located here. The character of Franschhoek is reflected in the hospitality of its people and the scenic beauty of this valley, where vineyards stretches across the mountain slopes, enchanting the hearts of locals and tourists alike.

At Heuwelsig Plaashuis, meaning "farmhouse with views over the hill", you can unwind in style and make yourself at home, in the warm ambiance and generous spaces. Enjoy the sunset on the wide verandah with spectacular mountains views, make yourself at home in front of the large open fire in the comfortable lounge, or simply just watch the world go by while lounging at the pool.

The farmhouse comprises a country kitchen with built-in braai, an elegant dining area seating up to eight people, and three deluxe suites each with full bathroom and underfloor heating. In our stylishly decorated rooms we use only the finest linen and premium amenities to ensure that your stay is memorable.

Apart from the main house, we have a private pool and pool bar area, combined with a spa and beauty treatment facilities. We also offer a perfect bridal preparation and pampering spot, for the discerning clients getting married in Franschhoek. To keep our weddings exclusive and special, we only host two weddings per month and the entire guest house needs to be hired. We specialise in small daytime weddings and special occasions for up to 30 people. Viewing of the venue can be arranged by appointment only.
