Description
Louwsburg is a little village situated on the main road to Pongola, and here you will find the hospitality of Jas Blanch on Heeltevreden Guest Farm. This lovely farm offers guests three comfortably furnished units with views of the scenic surrounds.
The Double Unit features a private verandah and is furnished with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower only. The two Single Units are furnished with two single beds each and share a bathroom with a shower only, as well as a small kitchenette. Tea and coffee facilities for all units are also provided.
It is recommended that guests bring warm clothing as the farm is situated on the Louwsburg Platau, as well as comfortable shoes for hiking. A full farm breakfast is enjoyed in the main cottage and light lunches and meals can be provided on request. The communal lounge is also equipped with a TV with DStv.
The farm borders Ithala Game Reserve and offers splendid views over the park. Ithala's big game species include white and black rhino, elephant, buffalo and notably giraffe. The absence of lion makes for a relaxed air among these animals and other game such as zebra, blue wildebeest and a wide variety of antelope including tsessebe, eland, red hartebeest and mountain reedbuck amongst others. Guests can go on day tours or self-drive safaris to Ithala Game Reserve, The Shrine of Ngome and the Ntendeka Wilderness. Fishing, bird watching and hiking can also be enjoyed in this lovely area.
