Hayward's Safari House

Elegantly appointed in a simplistic safari style, Hayward's Safari House is an ideal weekend getaway for those looking for peace and tranquility in a magnificent bushveld setting.

Its three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a Jacuzzi bath), lounge upstairs and fully equipped kitchen is ideal for private groups of six guests (three couples) and there is still space for kids. The house overlooks the spring-fed oasis on the reserve with great views all-round of ancient river beds and clear night skies ideal for astronomy. There is no TV but the National Geographic and Discovery Channels are right outside - in 3D. A mobile safari porta-pool is supplied in summer months. Our renowned Hayward's Spa treatments under canvass around the oasis are perfect for over-stressed executives.

A Butler service can be arranged as can other staff such as barmen, cooks and cleaners at an extra fee if needed

Set within the 1500 hectare private game reserve of Bobbejaansberg, the area is renowned for prolific bird life (over 350 species) and realistically safe for unguided walks as dangerous game such as hippo, buffalo, lion and elephant are not present.

Horse riding through the reserve can be arranged to encounter giraffe, eland, kudu, wildebeest and a variety of other small game, as can hot air balloon flights, walking with lions, golf at the nearby Pebble Rock Estate, bass fishing, clay pigeon shooting, photographic encounters, field guide training for kids and mountain biking trails (bring your own gear). Other activities to do in the area are visiting the famous Cullinan Diamond Mine and tours (ideal for luncheons), treetop canopy trails and tours to local N'debele potters and crafters.
