A great place to stay: hospitable, quiet, beautifull views and good location -

We stayed for a long weekend in the Hayloft and Haycroft cottages, and were impressed with the hospitality, service and neat cottages. Although the cottages are not exactly new, they are well maintained, clean, serviced daily and offer everything you could need. Apart from that, Howick is a very nice area to stay and an excellent start for daytrips into the Drakensbergen, Karkloof Nature Reserve or the beaches. Absolutely highly recommended!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet at Haycroft. Cottage was lovely and had everything we required plus some homely touches like a plate of fresh muffins! Family were very friendly. Pity the weather was not too good!

Haycroft Country House is a beautiful country holiday homestead set on 70 acres of rolling lawns and grasslands with views of the Midlands and Drakensberg.
Only 7 km's from Midmar Dam, Howick and close to the Karkloof nature reserve, half and hour from the Central and Southern Drakensberg, 20 minutes to Pietermaritzburg and an hour from Durban, Haycroft is easy to find, close enough to the N3 yet far enough to kick back and relax. Haycroft is home to many indigenous wild flowers, bird life and many species of buck, jackals, honey badgers, wild cat and more.

Enjoy the 6 hectare well stocked bass dam for fishing and rowing enthusiasts, swimming pool, floodlit tennis court and club house, equestrian facilities. Horse riding courses and lessons available.
Haycroft offers three comfortable, self-catering cottages decorated in charming soft furnishings with SABC TV (DSTV on request), hifi, and fresh milk and home-baked muffins on arrival.
The one bedroom cottage (Hayloft) has a shower ensuite, fully equipped modern kitchen, dining room and comfortable lounge with covered veranda where you can sip sundowners whilst enjoying the views of the Giant and Drakensberg.
The two bedroom cottage (Haycroft) has a full bathroom ensuite, sep fully equipped kitchen with microwave and stove. Open plan diningroom and lounge. This cottage sleeps 4 comfortably. Beautiful views of the Berg and private garden.
The three bedroom (Hayfield) is cozy and comfortable with stunning views of the dam and horses grazing in the field. Hayfield cottage has a bathroom with sep toilet, lounge and dining room and undercover veranda.
We have extra mattresses and cots on request. Fresh, crisp cotton linen is provided as well as extra blankets and towels. Serviced daily.
All cottages have private entrances, gardens and undercover parking. A double guest suite is available in the main house.
