Experience the natural splendor of the Suikerbosrand near the historical town of Heidelberg with beautiful views from our country stay.

We are situated at Lagerspoort, approximately ten kilometers from Heidelberg, only 4 km off the N3 highway towards Durban. It is ideally suited for family breakaways or business stays as it lies within easy reach of Johannesburg, the East Rand, the Vaal Triangle and Pretoria. (A 50 min drive from JHB and region and 90km from the airport.) Our establishment has a new venue for small weddings/ farm wedding/ small private parties/kiddies farm birthday parties/conference facilities for 20-40 people and 20 beds / accommodation.

Here visitors can enjoy hiking into the hillocks of the Suikerbosrand where interesting rock formations await them.Expect to see wild cosmos in March, various species of aloe and a burst of wild veldt flowers in springtime. Also look out for the rare Heidelberg Copper Butterfly, discovered in Heidelberg in 1959. We are 2km from the Alice Glöckner Butterfly Reserve. Other activities on the farm include bird watching, hiking and swimming. Come and experience country hospitality in Heidelberg. Activities include bird watching both on the farm and at the nearby Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve. Hiking trails: Put on your hiking boots and experience unspoiled nature and beautiful views of the Suikerbosrand area. View the remnants of old stone kraaltjies/pens on the farm. Formal hiking routes on nearby farms and at the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve - please book in advance. Other activities include horse riding, mountain biking or relax at the swimming pool with beautiful views over the Suikerbosrand. Tourist attractions in the area include the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, approximately 25km from the farm. Other historical attractions include the AG Visser House built in 1890, the Diepkloof Farm Museum, The Triumvirate Monument and Town Hall, the Old Jail, the church widely known as the old Klipkerk after its beautiful stone construction and The Bakoond Historical Monument where the Boers built a bakoond over the fountain to safeguard their water-supply. The town boasts intriguing shops - from antique shops to a jewelry factory and an old-fashioned sweet shop. Seasonal evening markets are also popular. The Carnival City Casino Complex is only a 30 minutes' drive from the farm.
