I had the most amazing stay at Hawksmoor House this week. Arriving on a sunny, cold winters day at this beautiful country house filled with the scent of freshly baked cookies (which I enjoyed with a cup of tea in front of the fireplace!) has been a fabulous treat! My room was the largest of them all (I was allowed a little peak into the others too). It was the white room, which has its own fireplace and underfloor heating and it just felt so cosy. Enjoyed the farm, nice and peaceful and relaxing, lots of info from the management and staff, there wine is great and the dinner was severed on front of the fire with rose petal's spread on the table and the local food was very tasty and in keeping with the place. The plus points for me are no TV or radio nor papers, nice and warm with underfloor heating and a gas fire in the room. I would like some comfortable chairs in the bedroom for reading, I know other rooms did have but not ours ... more
