Goose Cottage is a charming one-bedroom cottage set in its own large garden in the peaceful Victorian village of Stanford. The tranquility of the garden is complemented by the stunning backdrop of the Klein River Mountains, and the cottage is perfect for those wishing to get away from it all and enjoy the countryside.

An open-plan living area leads onto a Balu deck, while the en-suite bedroom leads onto its own patio. Goose Cottage is surrounded by lawns and gardens which extend down to the adjoining stream.

The cottage is within easy walking distance of several top-quality restaurants and architectural treasures in the Heritage Conservation Area. Nearby activities include excellent bird watching, river boating or cruising, wine estates, a micro-brewery, a cheese farm, beaches, whale watching, shark diving, horse riding, 4x4 trailing, and walks in the fynbos and mountains.

We spent 3 nights and 4 days at Goose Cottage in celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary. We immediately fell in love with the cottage on our arrival there. Its so perfectly situated adding privacy and tranquility to the stay. The country garden was lovely and we really appreciated the personal touches the hosts had placed in the cottage i.e. flowers, fruit, lovely home made soap and good coffee. Having no TV was great as we were able to take in the sounds of nature and re-charge ... more

Goose Cottage was a joy to visit. The small, modest sand road belies the deeper, sprawling expanse of beautifully kept garden at the back of the property where Goose Cottage is securely nestled. The cottage itself is the most cleverly stocked self-catering I have ever seen. There is everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. I would certainly recommend the cottage to any would-be visitors to Stanford.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful tranquil cottage with its lovely garden. The owners are very friendly and the cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated. Pity we were only there for one night. Would have loved to stay longer.
