According to historical records, the house was previously the Standard Bank. Local historians also claim it served as a boarding house before becoming a private house.
It has been beautifully renovated to create a warm and welcoming environment for guests. Twelve guests can be accommodated in comfort. The tastefully furnished bedrooms all have oil-filled heaters.
An open fire provides warmth in the lounge for relaxing during cold days. We do not have a liquor licence, but the Rhodes Hotel, Walkerbouts Inn and Rubicon Restaurant have bar facilities.
Garden Guesthouse is a non-smoking environment. Ash trays are provided on the stoep outside and in the garden for those guests who wish to smoke. Smoking is not permitted in the lounge, bedrooms or bathrooms.
The luxury of electricity has been brought in to the Guest House using underground cables to preserve the environment. Breakfast and supper are served in the hotel dining room.
