Fransvliet Guest House

Top class at every level, the rooms are incredible and the grounds, pool is simply stunning. breakfast is a big deal and will set you up for the whole day ahead. if you stay here you will not be dissapointed. Shirley will happily reccommend restaurants and things to do. We enjoyed chatting to her every morning.

Enjoyed Fransvliet at it's best and we received much more than was promised or expected. Such a magical experience... we will be back for sure!

This would have been a perfect guesthouse, fantastic room, friendly service and one of the best quality breakfasts ever. Only problem is the road noise. 4 of 5 cottages face the road. No afternoon nap possible even with the aircon humming along, traffic noise dies down very late at night and returns slowly from 5am. 100 m from a busy road is not an ideal location for a guesthouse. Impression of advert that this in a quiet vineyard is totally misleading.

I am very sorry that we did not meet your criteria. In defense, I can only say that firstly I have my home only 15 m further into the vineyards, and very exposed, and I am never affected by road noise. Secondly we have already had a number of “return” visits from both local and overseas clients – they have all stayed between 1 and 3 weeks, and have never commented on the road noise. The only time I have had a definite noise was one Sunday morning very early when the Harley Davidson crew throttled through – in this case the whole valley gets the noise. As to the noise going on late into the night, I really do dispute this as there are no trucks on the road at night, and only a few cars going home in both directions. I don’t feel that our advert is misleading as Fransvliet is a much revered, and a very peaceful and calm place.

This is by far the best guesthouse we stayed in during our tour of 14 days, and we stayed at about 10 different guest houses. Beautiful rooms, very guiet as it is surrounded by vineyards. A lot of extra things in room and everything is working. The best by far!

What a wonderful place to stay. A definite must. Beautifully situated on a farm slightly away from the bustle of Franschhoek but close enough to enjoy all that the area has to offer. Accommodation is beautiful, comfortable and all amenities are supplied. Shirley and Joe are most friendly and gracious hosts. Cannot recommend this guest house enough. Will definitely return.
