Perfect
Great rooms, fine restaurant (although 'one of the best tables in South Africa' might be slightly exaggerated). The staff made our stay their very pleasant, the service level was exceptionally good. The garden villa rooms are very comfortable.

Very comfortable hotel
Staff were very efficient (a bit too efficient in that the morning we were leaving the towels disappeared before we had checked out!) Pool area is very weak especially when there are children there as they commandeer the heated pool which is small. Breakfast was extremely good. Finally the hotel were really good with transport into Franschhoek.

We had a wonderful two nights at the Hotel, we loved the gardens, our room and the food was delicious. We hope to be back before too long. We would certainly highly recommend the Hotel!

Description
Set in the picturesque wine-producing valley of Franschhoek is this small luxury hotel, offering luxury and indulgence to discerning travellers. The restored manor house and former perfumery dating back to 1890, is situated on the outskirts of the village and is surrounded by enchanting vineyards and majestic mountains. An hour’s drive from Cape Town makes it the perfect getaway for anyone visiting the Western Cape. The Country House offers 14 luxury rooms and 12 suites. All the rooms offer features and facilities expected of a first class hotel. Almost all the rooms lead out onto private balconies or private patio with magnificent views. The newly opened 5 star villa suites offers the ultimate in luxury and indulgence. Each suite is a 100sqm in size, very luxurious with seperate lounge and bedroom, entertainment facilities (large tv, individual satelite tv, dvd player, music system of the suite, internet connectivity). Each suite has 2 private patios or balconies, 2 airconditioners, undefloor heating, fireplace and much more. The best value for mone suites in the Cape Winelands! A complimentary sherry can be enjoyed in one of the guest lounges alongside a crackling log-fire, creating a welcoming atmosphere in winter. During summer, guests laze at one of the two pools with beautiful mountain vistas, visit the boutique wine-farms in Franschhoek, or stroll in the charming town found by the French Huguenots. The in house Monneaux restaurant, voted as one of the top Restaurants in South Africa, has become known for its innovative Modern French Cuisine, prepared with fresh, well sourced ingredients and is exquisitely presented. A-la-Carte lunches are served on the magnificent new fountain terrace whilst dinner is served in the understated, yet elegant, dining room or enclosed veranda. The wine list emphasizes local wines that can also be enjoyed by the glass in the cosy wine bar. Franschhoek Country House is situated on the R45 route, 1 km before the main town of Franschhoek.
