Recommend it to anyone who needs a refreshing break from the city. Great seaside walks, fishing, shark and whale watching.

We had a delightful stay at this family home. We felt comfortable as soon as we walked in the door - ample space for 12 people. Kids have toys and space to play. Very well appointed - you won't have to search for an egg fryer or salad bowls here. Clean, comfortable, great views, safe, spacious, and great value for money.
We will be back.

The one bedroom has a cot and there is a high chair. There are a few toys, buckets & spades.
We always have a great time in the rockpools along the coastline looking for octupus and starfish and trying to catch the biggest rockfish possible. |

Our house is built right next to the Kleinbaai Golf Course on the first fairway. It has wonderful undisturbed views over the golf course and of the coastal bush beyond.

Kleinbaai, where Fort Wiltshire is situated (only 30 minutes from Hermanus), is a bustling little coastal town renowned for it’s white shark cage diving and boat-based whale watching.
Our house is located near the end of a cul-de-sac and overlooks the first fairway of the local 9-hole golf course.
From the house one has views over the fairway, the coastal bush and the sea beyond - one really experiences peace and tranquillity here. .
The house accommodates a maximum of 12 people (including children) in 4 bedrooms (3 Double rooms + 1 single with cot) & a loft area (2 double beds & 2 single beds).
There are 2 shared bathrooms – one with bath and shower, and the other with shower – we do not supply towels. Facilities:
•The lounge, dining room, kitchen are all open-plan under an open double volume roof with lofty windows that bring brilliant rays of sun into the living areas.
•Being right on the golf course, the large windows and sliding door onto the balcony lend themselves to the wonderful, undisturbed views over the golf course, the coastal bush and the sea beyond.
•The lounge has a fireplace which warms the house beautifully in the winter. There is a radio/CD player, but no TV.
•The house is well appointed with the kitchen fully equipped with all the amenities one would have in your own kitchen. (Dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, electrical oven, fridge & bar fridge)
•For the braai (BBQ) enthusiasts we have a personally-built stone boma fireplace (with braai-grid) sheltered by the milkwood tree at the front of the house.
•Double garage with off-street parking
•Washing machine
Shopping & Things to do: •There are 2 fantastic grocery shops in Gansbaai – Spar & OK. Fresh fish shop at the Gansbaai harbour – closed on sat pm & sun!
•Gansbaai’s fishing tackle shops – whether you are going for the big Kabeljou off the coast, crayfish from a boat or rockfish in the rock pools – they’ll have what you need.
•Clothing factory shops in Gansbaai – some good quality for really good prices.
•Good restaurants and pubs in and around Gansbaai. We usually watch the sports events at the Lighthouse Tavern on the way to Danger Point – it has a playground for kids and a big screen for dads!
•Danger Point Lighthouse – not open on Sun.
•Sea-side walks along the coastal road from Kleinbaai to Danger Point
•Kleinbaai’s Tidal Pool – 5min walk
•Franskraal beach – 7min scenic drive along the coast.
•De Gruis Coastal Reserve – 4x4’s allowed – entrance fees charged
•Shark Cage Diving
•Boat-based Whale Watching
•Whale watching (De Kelders) – 5km

Fort Wiltshire is our home away from home. We invite you to spend time in our sea-side home and enjoy the area as much as we enjoy it ourselves.
