Description
Fires Mountain Lodge offers self-catering log cabins, located against the slopes of the Waterberg Mountains, overlooking the Magliesberg Mountains and the valley at Saartjiesnek Pass and Hartbeespoort Dam. There is direct access to all the activities the area has to offer.
There is a swimming pool with 180 degree views, situated in a well established sub-tropical garden. The swimming pool is large and positioned inbetween the rocks, palms and indigenous. Children using the pool must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
The lodge has five beautifully constructed wooden, open-plan, self-catering chalets. Each chalet is fully-equipped and sleep either two, four or eight guests. They also offer a private sun deck with a braai area and superb panoramic views of the villages, dam and mountains. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets throughout the year.
Guests enjoy the serene atmosphere whilst walking among the sub-tropical gardens. Experience many bird and small wild animal species in the splendor of this tranquil garden setting. Over 100 bird species have been identified in this garden.
Occasionally a troop of baboons or monkeys visit the garden, and at night one can hear the jackals howling.
The surrounding area has activities such as restaurants for breakfast and lunch, Ennis Wedding and Conference Centre, Ring Ox Wagon Museum, a Pick n Pay centre, fishing at Meerhof, boat trips and slipways at Meerhof, cruises on the dam, a garden pots factory, a fresh water aquarium, a snake and animal park, dam wall, Henops Lion Park, De Wild Cheetah and Wildlife Research Centre, Crocodile Farm, art galleries, hot air ballooning and golf courses are nearby. There is also the Elephant Sanctuary.
