Description

Situated on Esikhotheni farm, which forms part of the Pongola Game Reserve South bordering on the famous Jozini Lake where the infamous Tiger Fish has eluded countless fishermen. Esikhotheni Bush Camp consists of a large elevated deck, situated on the Mpeti Stream, able to comfortably accommodate 6 to 8 people (bedding and towels supplied), sleeping either inside the wood cabin, or on the deck, weather permitting - an experience not to be missed! (No individual rooms) The open rondavel kitchen is fully kitted for the self-catering guest including a fridge and freezer, stove, etc, and is serviced daily. Firewood & ice are supplied at no extra charge. Whilst the very unique bathroom, situated off the deck, partially surrounded by bush, boasts 5 star facilities, the sense of 'bush belonging' is overwhelming with the huge windows allowing one to observe (or be observed) transforming the most mundane of activities into an unforgettable experience.

In one word "magnificent". I wish I could have kept this place a secret! Kudos to the owners, staff and management! Your friendliness, hospitality and excellent management is the recipe to your success!

Saw lots of game and had lovely evenings with a magic bonfire. Cottage was clean and neat. Fishing at this time of year was poor. Had a great meal at the lodge on the Wednesday evening.

Interesting idea - 4 of the big five - sleeping in an open lapa with no windows or walls!! Must say our Russian visitors revelled in the "true African" experience
