Description
Epupa Camp consists of nine luxury Safari-style Tents erected on stone platforms, each with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom. All of the tents have electricity and mosquito netting and an outside, shaded balcony overlooking the tranquil Kunene River. Large makalani palms overhead provide welcome shade from the midday sun. A minimum stay of two nights, ideally three, is recommended to fully benefit from everything the Epupa area has to offer.
The adjacent dining room and lounge area also face the Kunene River, along with a lounging pool for cooling down from the midday heat or enjoying a glass of sparkling wine while watching the sun set.
Our five exclusive campsites, under huge ana and makalani trees, allow for a camping in a secluded, shady and quiet corner along the Kunene River. Our campsites combine the use of local material with pleasing attention to detail to allow for a most memorable stay in Namibia.
Each campsite has a river view and has private ablution facilities, consisting of a shower with warm and cold water, flush toilets and two hand basins, a braai area, and a sink for dishes. The campsites are spacious to easily allow a group of ten guests with five vehicles with off-road trailers or caravans. Campers are ensured of falling asleep to the sounds of only the rapids of the Kunene River, nocturnal animals and birds. Camping guests are welcome to use the Epupa Camp facilities. Meals and activities can be booked with the camp management upon arrival. The local community sells firewood at the campsite and also offers a laundry service. Our staff can assist you to negotiate this with the community.
Our campsite is situated about 1 km, an easy walk, from the Epupa Falls. You can meander along the river bank or through the village. Enquire at check-in about self-hiking trails and guided trails. Epupa Camp offers a wide range of activities that give you a rare opportunity to explore this fascinating corner of the world, including visits to a Himba settlement, sundowner sunset drives, rafting, bird-watching boat trips, and visits to Epupa Falls.

Each campsite has a river view and private ablution facilities, consisting of a shower with warm and cold water, flush toilets and two hand basins, a braai area, and a sink for dishes. The campsites are spacious to easily allow a group of ten guests with five vehicles with off-road trailers or caravans. Meals and activities can be booked with the camp management upon arrival. Warm water is supplied by a ‘donkie’. This system is quite energy efficient as it only needs a few pieces of low quality wood to heat up the water. Our camping staff fire the 'donkies' every morning and late in the afternoon. Adding more is not allowed as this can be potentially dangerous.
