Description

Nestled in the Magaliesberg Mountains, only one hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria, The Elephant Sanctuary at Hartbeespoort Dam lies in a malaria-free area. The sanctuary has a main lodge and Bush lodge with comfortable luxury accommodation.

Main lodge offers four suites that share a common wall with one of our elephant's stables, you will be amazed how quiet they actually are. There is a covered patio and lounge for relaxing or reading, and a secluded swimming pool in the forest a few steps from the lodge. The main deck overlooks the elephant boma and has an adjoining curio shop with interesting, mostly elephant-related items, and fully licensed bar.

Bush Lodge is an African lodge, designed for outdoor living with a wide veranda that overlooks the lawned pool area alongside the bar and lounge. Its wooden decks, thatch bar and well-established trees make it an oasis within the bushveld. The lodge has been designed to make our guests feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome. Should your group be taking over the entire lodge, you will find it is like having your own magical home with all the suites feeding out onto the main living area.

The lodge is situated approximately 100m from the Main Lodge and has its own bar, thatched lounge area and swimming pool. The rooms are tastefully appointed, with subtle bushveld browns and softer cream tones and sumptuously dressed beds.

Three-course dinner is around an open fire in the boma and breakfast is served on the main deck overlooking elephants. Tea, coffee and welcome drinks are included; bar beverages, sundowner drinks, curios and gratuities are for your own account.

Elephant rides are available at an extra fee. We are directly adjacent to Monkeyland and the Birds of Eden sanctuary, giving you three world-class experiences in one stop.
