Elephant Lake Hotel is located on the Elephant Coast, in the heart of the exquisite St Lucia World Heritage Site between Lake St Lucia and the Indian Ocean. The hotel sits on the banks of the St Lucia Estuary and overlooks the lake. St Lucia supports more animal species than the better-known Kruger National Park and Okavango Delta, although these areas are much larger.

The hotel has a 3 Star grading and boasts 28 luxurious en-suite and air-conditioned bedrooms. All rooms share a westerly view across the St Lucia Estuary and they have DStv, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryers and full range of bathroom amenities

The ground level of the hotel has 14 rooms with private patios leading out to a sparkling pool, an upmarket restaurant, the hotel lounge and reception area. The upper level has the bedrooms and a spacious bar that leads out the hotel’s estuary viewing deck. There is a crystal clear swimming pool located in the hotel gardens for exclusive use by hotel guests. Our ladies bar and sun deck provide breathtaking views of the estuary and African sunsets. Our restaurant offers a full á la carte menu and we can arrange carvery meals for larger groups.

The ideal location of the hotel provides guests with a vast range of activities. Take a boat cruise on the St Lucia Estuary which is world-renowned for the excellent hippo, crocodile and bird viewing. Guests can also enjoy a day on the unspoilt beaches, swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean or just simply stroll through town and explore all of the interesting shops, restaurants arts and crafts on offer.

3 Reviews on Elephant Lake Hotel

My husband and I stayed at Elephant Lake Hotel for a week during December. We looked at a few places, but decided to stay here even thought it was more expensive than some of the other places because we enjoy a holiday in a hotel. I was very disappointed. The rooms were clean, however the hotel was very noisy (noise started at 6 in the morning already with staff coming past our room and shouting at the top of their voices) and the service was aweful (I'm referring to the room service and the restaurant and bar service). When I am paying nearly R1500.00 per night I expect better service. The hotel will not see me again. Sorry to say.

St Lucia was absolutely beautiful. However the hotel a disapointment. Most of the staff are excellent but a few let the rest down. The hotel infrastructure needs some investment like painting the pool, repairing the cracked tiles in the bedrooms, putting fridges and baths in family rooms to name just a few. Unfortunately the hotel really needs to review its' pricing policy as it is far too expensive for the product it offers. As I said at the outset, St Lucia is beautiful and we will be back just no to this hotel.

Great place to stay and staff are very friendly. Food is also very good and hope that I will be able to spend another few days at the hotel.
