Description

Duikerfontein Bed & Breakfast is set in peaceful surroundings in central Durban North. For leisure, we are conveniently close to the Gateway Theatre of Shopping with its cinema complex, climbing wall, wave pool and entertainment area, as well as the Sun Coast and Sibaya casinos. As for the famed KwaZulu-Natal Beaches, we have Umhlanga or the Golden Mile right on our doorstep, with Umhloti and Ballito just a short drive away.

We offer five air-conditioned rooms, each with en-suite shower, DStv, Wi-Fi, bar fridge, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Secure parking, barbecue facilities and a clear swimming pool are also available to all guests and a choice of a full English or continental breakfast is served. Two of the rooms are located in an outside cottage that opens onto a common patio and offer open-plan kitchenettes for self-catering purposes. The remaining three rooms are in a wing of the main house and have their own entrances. These rooms can be combined into a family suite and also have access to a patio next to the pool.

For the nature lover, there are trails at the Hawaan Lagoon at Umhlanga or the nearby Virginia Bush Nature Reserve as well as an informative visit to the Natal Sharks Board. For the sports lover, there are four golf courses within ten minutes of each other, just 30 minutes away. Parkhill and Northlands Bowling Greens are within walking distance and a tennis club is just around the corner, while Kings Park Soccer Stadium, the Absa Rugby Stadium and Kingsmead Cricket Stadium are all very close.

In addition, sight-seeing tours can be arranged to the Umfolozi Game reserve to to view the Big 5. If the timing is right, why not chase the sardines during the annual Sardine Run or catch a boat at Umhlanga and ride with the dolphins.
