Drotsky’s Cabins, on the western pan-handle of the Okavango Delta near Shakawe in the north western corner of Botswana, is one of the original lodges in the country and especially popular amongst tourists keen on fishing and birding. Drotsky’s Cabins is a family business, and since it has been here for a long time, its owners are extremely knowledgeable about the Shakawe area, as well as the flora and fauna in this part of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

Guests at Drotsky’s Cabins are accommodated in six A-frame chalets overlooking the wide Okavango River. The chalets are simple, clean and comfortable, and exude the charm of years gone by. The bar at Drotsky’s Cabins is also frequented by locals, apart from tourists, so you are guaranteed to hear some fascinating stories about the region. The dining area overlooks the Okavango River, note that meals have to be booked in advance and paid for when you arrive, while the campsite is situated behind the chalets, below a huge canopy of trees offering welcome shade.
