Description

The Lodge - naturally stunning ... created luxury: Imagine sitting above a 30-metre waterfall, with breathtaking views of a river gorge and the wild Indian Ocean. This is the setting of The Fernery Lodge. It is hard to decide whether to admire the incredible surroundings from the Lodge's deck area with the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym, or to enjoy it from any one of the six deluxe suites.



Each suite is tastefully decorated and every effort has been made to ensure our guests' comfort, from DSTV and an en-suite bathroom to a private deck with beautiful views. For complete opulence, try The Honeymoon Suite with its luxurious spa bath. At the end of a tough day relaxing, guests can wander through our wine cellar and select a bottle of wine before making their way to the Cellar Dining Room for excellent cuisine and an equally enjoyable atmosphere. Children are welcome in the Chalets, but regrettably no children under the age of 12 years are permitted in the Lodge and dinner restaurant due to its ambiance.

 

The Chalets - beautiful and secluded. Experience the Tsitsikmma as if you were the first to discover it. There are both B&B and self catering chalets, each beautifully appointed and privately located, so you can enjoy a peaceful paradise experience. Relax in nature and treat your soul to views of mystical waterfalls, rock pools and the vast Indian Ocean.



The B&B chalets sleep 2 in either twin- or king size luxury, whereas the self catering chalets sleep 4 and have fully equipped kitchenettes, making them ideal for families - or choose one of the plush twin chalets (ideal for 2 couples) which offer en-suite bathrooms and private lounges, fully equipped kitchen and a private plunge pool on the deck. All the chalets are beautifully decorated and each chalet has a unique theme inspired by its magnificent surroundings. Enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and forests from the privacy of the sheltered deck or curl up in front of the cosy ceramic fireplace with a good book. End off the evening with a barbecue on your deck - simply arrange beforehand and you will be provided with everything from the ingredients to the Weber.



Facilities: An entertainment area with dart board, satellite television and sauna, as well as a swimming pool, is at the guests disposal. A large jacuzzi, perched on the edge of the river gorge, is a favourite with our guests, and can be enjoyed with a bottle of wine or champagne.

We stayed in the lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our two night stopover. We found it to be very comfortable and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful and unique scenery from the ideal 'vantage point' of the lodge. The food and service was excellent too with all the staff nice and friendly helping to create the idyllic retreat. We will certainly re-visit in the near future!

Accommodation fantastic and the Brais prepared for you with charcoal etc so all you have to do was cook them was a fabulous idea. We will return.

Alikreukel: This lovely silver and copper coloured shell which is found in the rock pools along the Tsitsikamma coast gives this Chalet its earthy brown and beige colour scheme. The headboard artistically depicts waving seaweed and driftwood.

Our B&B Chalets have an open-plan bedroom / lounge with fireplace and minibar; and en suite bathroom. The private decks overlook the river gorge, plantations and surrounds and are equipped with braai facilities.

This family self-catering unit has two open plan bedrooms (1 bottom and 1 top level) and one bathroom to share. The private deck overlooks the river gorge, plantation and surrounds and is equipped with braai facilities. This unit is ideal for a family with children.
