Description
Die Bosvarkie can be found near the small Karoo town of Calitzdorp on Route 62 and offers guests 60 caravan and campsites on shaded grass. Each site is equipped with power points and the shared ablution facilities have hot water and consist of showers only.
Die Bosvarkie offers Karoo hospitality and a great rustic outdoor experience. A bush pub is situated on site and serves traditional cuisine - bookings are essential - and live shows by local SA artists are also performed regularly on the stage on the grounds.
Calitzdorp is probably mostly recognized for its production of some of the country’s best port wines, and various activities can be enjoyed in the area, from walking trails in the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve, the Redstone Hills and at Retreat at Groenfontein, while birding in the hillsides and the area's fynbos are also very rewarding.
