Not in winter
Andre Lengton, South Africa
05 September 2011
Only heat source a microwave oven, kettle and hot water in the shower. The fireplace may not be used, no heater due to the low electricity supply. Even the kettle dims the light extensively. The coldest night I can remember, except for a tent in winter. We did receive two hot water bottles after asking about a heater. The welcome was good and the old farmhouse clean and neat as can be. The silence was welcome except for the odd train passing nearby.

The cottage at Die Blokhuis had a lot of rustic charm but was fairly basic. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was good.

The staff are definitely amazing. They are welcoming, warm and friendly and the accommodation excellent. Our stay at Die Blokhuis was a great way to start a long weekend away and we would definitely recommend it!

It was great and the house was so nice and cool in the heat.

This guest farm house is very neat and clean and has the most amazing views we've have ever seen. Millions of stars, and you do not need a telescope. God's glory is clearly seen in the heavens at this Karoo farm. Greetings Chanel.
