Desert Camp, an exciting new self-catering facility for families just 4 kilometres away from Sossusvlei Lodge on the private reserve This facility is situated only four kilometres away from the main lodge at the entrance gate to Sossusvlei (Namib Naukluft Park) and is also ideal for tour groups with meals served at the Lodge. Desert Camp nestles under centuries old camel thorn trees and has an unsurpassed 360 degrees view over the desert landscape and surrounding mountains. Accommodation consists of twenty luxury safari tents with double roofing, high standard en-suite bathroom, twin beds and granite tiled floors. Tasteful interior decorating reflects the special hues of the Namib desert. Each accommodation unit is fully-equipped with a compact lock up kitchen compartment, featuring a two plate stove, refrigerator/freezer, wash-up facility and all kitchen utensils. An own barbecue facility and shaded vehicle parking is provided at each unit.

We had a great stay at Desert Camp. The tents are clean, neat and in an amazing setting. You can get all the utensils you need in an ammo case at reception and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bar and pool was also a wonderful place to spend some time.

This camp is absolutely amazing - It is the perfect setting, quiet and a place that I want to return to again. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I love the food list that we can order each day - thank you Nico - a great idea. I will recommend this camp to anyone looking for a place to stay - I give is a 7 star rating.

Wir waren eine Nacht in DC und waren sehr zufrieden. Wir hatten uns Grillfleisch und Salate liefern lassen und direkt an der Unterkunft gegrillt. Man hat einen tollen Blick und kann nachts gut schlafen, weil frische Luft durch die Fliegengase ziehen kann. Es ist alles da, was man braucht.

Very nice experience, superb view, nice accommodation with all comfort (hot water when it's 10° is great) and very kind service (nothing for barbecue but material at disposal for free and shopping list delivered at 6.00 PM) for a "braaï" experience. We loved it!
