Description
Denise’s Cottage is a self-catering, comfortable Karoo cottage situated in the homestead of Nieu Bethesda, some 60 km from Graaff-Reinet.
The cottage is well appointed and comfortable with one bedroom that sleep two. The cottage is equipped with a wall heater, separate shower and toilet, a fully equipped kichen, a cosy lounge with a small wood-burning stove, a TV and a small dining area. There is a private patio outside with braai facilities and secure parking for the guests.
Nieu Bethesda lies in a narrow valley, has no street lights and is only about one mile wide and two miles long - home to less than a thousand people. Today Nieu Bethesda is a retreat for artists, crafters and other creative spirits who have been attracted by its slow, off-beat character. Its rustic charm is also what attracts tourists to the town and because of its isolation it has retained a lot of its original historical integrity. Nieu Bethesda has only a couple of main streets, a few guest houses, restaurants, a pub and a couple of art galleries.
