Dempsey's is a comfortable and affordable self catering guest house, in the tranquil suburb of Walmer, Port Elizabeth. We, your hosts, live on-site and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and abundant bird life that you too can enjoy. We chose self-catering as opposed to a B&B, as we owned Bruno's Restaurant for many years and wanted to withdraw from cooking. We are centrally situated in Port Elizabeth, being close to the airport, beaches, hospitals and shopping centres.

We offer two family rooms and three double rooms, all of which are spacious and comfortably laid out, with private entrances, kitchenettes and en suite bathrooms.

We are proud to have one of our family rooms wheelchair friendly - one of the first in Port Elizabeth to be designed from the early stages to be accessible and user friendly for disabled guests, thanks to the assistance of our architect and quadriplegic and paraplegic friends. An accessible ramp leads from the car park to the spacious room; the bathroom has a 'roll-in shower' with correct railings and fittings.

Tony Webb, the Disability Consultant from "Disability Options" in Port Elizabeth, has viewed and inspected our wheelchair-friendly room and has provided us with certification.
