Our family warmly invites you to share with us the spirit of the Cape Winelands in Paarl. Surrounded by fruit trees and vineyards, De Leeuwenhof Estate, is an idyllic country destination only 35 minutes from Cape Town. Discover our working wine farm, established in 1698, absorb the ancient atmosphere of a time gone by and understand why our ancestors fell in love with this beautiful part of Africa.
The family consists of Daan and Yvonne van Leeuwen Boomkamp with their two children Stefan and Tessa, some dogs, and the family cat. Drawn by adventure and driven by a quest to seek new boundaries, the van Leeuwen Boomkamp’s can tell out of own experience how one can fall in love with this ancient part of South Africa and how one feels linked to the Dutch ancestors who planted the roots for nowadays society.
The farm boasts 3500 fruit trees which are hand-picked from March until September on a daily basis, and in January and February the delicate wines are harvested. Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cape-Riesling are farmed and every visitor gets to attend a private tour by the farmer if requested, as well as a tractor or quad bike ride. Recently, the owners have started with planting Giant Bamboo on the farm for commercial purposes, and between 6-12 labourers work daily on the farm.
We offer two luxury apartments, both with double bedrooms, kitchenette, terrace, and bathroom. Features include air-conditioning, underfloor heating, and TV with DVD. Secure private parking is provided and Internet is available. We also offer four luxury rooms situated in a restored building with communal kitchen facilities.
We welcome you and your children to enjoy the hospitality of our estate, relax at the pool and Jacuzzi, and have a glass of wine with us.

Character: De Leeuwenhof is an old Dutch cape-style farm, furnished with Dutch antiques and restored to its old style. In winter we serve breakfast near the fire-place in our oldest room dating back to 1710.
Location: De Leeuwenhof is situated in the middle of the winelands, just outside Paarl, surrounded by fruit and wine- arms of which our opposite neighbour is the well-known Nederburg.
Family: We have a lot of animals on the farm and they all love children, as well as a big trampoline. Our family apartments are ideal for families.
Food & Gastronomy: We have direct access to our 5 Star neighbour's restaurant at Palmiet Valley where the chef produces a fixed menu every night for our guests.
Luxury: We are graded 4 Stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.
Business Traveller: We offer wireless internet, photocopy service, early calls, and breakfast as well as lunch packages.
