De Doornkraal Historic Country House

At the De Doornkraal Historic Country House you will be treated to luxurious accommodation in charming surroundings and beautiful interiors. Riversdale, home of the majestic Sleeping Beauty mountain peak, is located on the Garden Route, a malaria-free area.

All 15 rooms offered are en-suite with Internet access free of charge. Guests can enjoy a drink from the honesty bars in the two private lounges. There are two cottages with lounges and patios to supplement the accommodation. Guests experience total privacy since the hosts reside in the Edwardian homestead of the De Doornkraal Estate. A swimming pool is located in the garden for the guests to use. The intimate De Wingerdt restaurant has a splendid wine list and serves cuisine of the region. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is ample secure parking for guests.

De Doornkraal is eco-friendly; solar-heated water is utilized for the en-suite bathrooms. For organizations that need a break from city life, De Doornkraal offers conferencing in the renovated, air-conditioned former freemasons lodge, Lodge Frere, built in 1888, that forms part of the complex.
