De Berg DB&B

An eventful evening that Friday 26/04/13. A flat motorcycle tyre near Mt Fletcher,limped slowly to Matatiele at 8.00 pm with a public holiday next day. All repair shops closed and a long journey still ahead, the owners of De Berg DB@B, Annelie and Jaco Pieterse sprang to our rescue. Going beyond the extra mile, Jaco managed with his mechanical background to be instrumental in repairing that rear tyre. What relief,difficult to describe my jubilation At being on the road again! Baie dankie julle! And the rest of our stay was great; although we arrived very late our supper was delicious and so welcome. The room was spacious and airy. The shower enveloped our weary bodies in nice hot water. The TV was adequate but we were rather tired. Rusks for breakfast was all we needed to continue our journey. Thank you both so much. Wow! Three c's: Cosy, Comfortable, Complete.

De Bergh is a small but very well appointed establishment. The rooms are tastefully furnished and for self catering the crockery, cutlery, where of good quality also all the other utensils and appliances. Everything needed is there at hand with care given to smaller details such as tea, coffee, a jug of milk in the fridge and a welcoming chocolate bar. The linen was beautiful and the whole effect looked inviting, and exuded an ambiance of rest. We were received with genuine warmth and hospitality.

Very well fitted out room ideal for self-catering. If a couple of easy chairs could have been fitted into the room, that would have made it more comfortable. Lashings of hot water and a very comfortable bed. I think that it should be made clearer on the quotes that meals are available but they have to be pre-requested.

Stay at De Berg DB&B was the best experience, the place is queit and warm welcome. We could communicate well as we taught DB & B offers breakfast as well but lunch is optional.
