De Ark Mountain Lodge, with its breathtaking mountain views and ideal location near the picturesque village of Clarens, is a place of restoration for those in need of silence, nature, and solitude. Elevated above the village of Clarens, De Ark is strategically located adjacent to the Golden Gate National Park, and just 7 km from Clarens town centre with its vibrant village life.

The lodge consists of six chalets and one room with en-suite bathrooms. Each chalet has a fireplace and patio, as well as sweeping views of the mountains. The farm boast some of the most beautiful landscapes which can be experienced when taking an early morning walk, mountain bike ride or horse ride amongst the zebra, bontebokke, Black wildebeest, springbok and eland.

Our rates are charged per person, with the first two guests paying the same rate and any additional guests charged at a lower rate.

We had an excellent 3 night stay last weekend, two families (5 teen age kids). We met very friendly and helpful team, flexible to help in anything, and the guided walk with Romario was also excellent, nice accommodation and facilities and very reasonable price, good value for money. The location is just perfect, wonderful mountain view, close proximity to Golden Gate and you also can have a nice walk on the farm, lots of activities nearby. We also had excellent dinner, braai was fantastic. We also managed to climb up to the the Tugela falls, Royal Natal NP, about 2 hrs drive to the trail start point, it is really a must to do. We also loved the quiet, private atmosphere, very good place for families, small groups. We will try to be back soon.

Our stay over for the night of Saturday 23 June was very pleasant and met all our expectations. More than enough wood was supplied to warm up the chalet on an exceptionally cold and wet night. Two complaints : - Supper at R140 per person for a bowl of stew and rice with chocolate ice cream was a bit expensive. - One candle for light after the elecricity cut out as a result of the thunderstorm is not enough. There should be at least two.
