Dankbaar

Dankbaar is an exquisite beach house situated in the fisherman’s village of Paternoster on the West Coast. The lovely house offers three bedrooms, furnished with double and twin beds, and two shared bathrooms with heated towel rails.

The open-plan lounge and kitchen is comfortably furnished and features a fireplace as well as a TV with DStv. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a dishwasher, an oven and stove, a microwave and a kettle, and a dining area for four is also provided. The open-plan lounge opens onto a balcony with a braai area and offers stunning views of the sea. The house is a smoking free area.

Paternoster is a year-round destination and is famous for its strong traditional fisherman’s architecture, endless pristine sandy beaches, beautiful sunsets, and whales and dolphins frolicking in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, when the first spring rains fall, millions of indigenous flowers open and carpet the earth with bright colours. The area is also home to more than 250 species of birds, and is a bird-watcher’s heaven.

When exploring Paternoster you are sure to find a variety of small shops and restaurants, while the Cape Columbine Lighthouse was the last manned lighthouse and has an interesting history.
