Description

Regain balance in your life by getting back to nature. Dew Cottage is a rustic retreat, situated on a working organic farm, where you can relax and unwind in comfort whilst enjoying the beautiful mountain environment.

The private, renovated farm cottage is self-catering and sleeps four to five people. A fully equipped kitchen with fridge and stove, as well as heaters and a fan provide for your comfort. All linen, feather duvets, blankets and towels are provided too. Enjoy romantic meals outside on the wooden deck with stunning views of the mountains and farmlands, or snuggle up indoors in front of the cosy fireplace. Laze in the hammock watching birds and listening to the frogs singing in the seasonal stream - a great place for children to explore. There is a braai and fire-pit in the garden where you can lose yourself under the stars.

Situated on the little farm called Vredenshoogte, which means Peaceful Heights, or as a friend once put it “The Height of Peace. We are on the “Fruit Route” in the Keisie Valley, 25km outside of Montagu, at the foot of the Burgers Pass. There are lovely walks with stunning views and mountain biking routes. Seasonal fruit, almonds, sunflower seeds, herbs and vegetables are available for sale and there is a variety to taste from the “Dew Delights” range. We make all sorts of delicious jams, jellies, chutneys and conserves from our produce.

Being nestled at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain range we often have snow- covered peaks in winter – a veritable winter wonderland. Spring flowers abound and the fruit trees are a picture in bloom. In summer one can experience the abundance of nature as the trees lay heavy with apricots, peaches and almonds. The vines are harvested in late summer and wine is made locally as well as the famous Montagu Muscadel.

We would love to share this little piece of paradise with you.

Travel off the tar for a couple of kilometres to a secluded farm in the mountains! A place to revitalise your tired mind and body! A large cottage with electricity provided. No wifi or cellphone (mobile) reception gave us time to relax, catch up on books and conversations! Excellent for bird lovers, hikers or just to chill out. Doreen, our host, was very kind, surprising us with muffins one morning and eggs On another! Good beds, bathroom, a large veranda, braai facilities and much more made this a comfortable stay. Would highly recommend!,

2 nights in Dew Cottage simply wasn't enough, we loved every bit of it! Thanks also to Doreen for the fantastic hospitality. We hope to return for a longer break in the future!

Small peace of heaven. This is the ideal spot to get reconnected and revitalised. We had a lovely stay and Doreen makes one feel right at home. Truely thankful for the experience.

      13 October 2014

We enjoyed a two day stay at Dew Cottage with my parents. We arrived in a very neat and clean cosy cottage overlooking mountains in all directions. We loved the hammocks on the 'stoep'.
We also went on two hikes into the mountains. The Keisie mountains took my breath away with its splendour.
The cottage is comfortably equipped with everything you might need for a relaxed stay. Comfortable bed and nice good quality linen and towels were provided as well.
The home made jams, atchars and preserves are highly recommended (available to purchase).
Zulu, a big doberman dog and his sidekick came to greet us a few times.
A place where friendliness is almost tangible in the air!
Highly recommended for the price range!

The stay at Due Cottage was certainly a wonderful experience. My family and I enjoyed our stay at Due Cottage very much. Compliments on an excellent self-catering unit. I must say that it felt like heaven on earth. The tranquility and nature. Once again, thank you for making our weekend a memorable one. Another good memory for our holiday scrapbook. We will be back....
