Description

Cowrie Lodge is situated in Praia da Barra on a tall dune offering the most spectacular view over the pristine Barra beaches - and beyond to the coastline of Morumbene. The lodge has a sandy walkway to the beach and is very secure. Accommodation comprises two quaint reed and grass self-catering chalets.

The main house sleeps up to five guests and comprises two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, scullery, and a huge deck with a barbecue for dining and entertaining while gazing at the superb view and all the beach activities. The adjoining casita features one en-suite bedroom with a double bed and an additional room with two single beds. The chalet comprises an en-suite bedroom, with three single beds in the open-plan lounge and kitchen area, and also features a small deck overlooking the ocean.

The lodge is serviced daily and has borehole water, gas and electricity. Guests are advised to please bring their own towels, cleaning equipment, laundry powders, toilet paper, and garbage bags. 4x4 or 2x4 vehicles, with diff lock, are required as we are situated on 2 km of very sandy road, inaccessible by normal passenger vehicles.

We stayed 6 nights at Cowrie Lodge. Absolutely perfect place......privacy, amazing view of sea, lagoon and peninsula, fantastically well equipped house, huge undercover area with tables and wonderfully comfortable chairs for lounging, reading, gazing at the view. Staff were so helpful and unobtrusive. Great value for money and a homely feel. We will be back!!

Cowrie lodge is the perfect destination! Awesome view over the ocean, secluded, private and safe! Couldn't have asked for a better place with a better view! Our first time in Mozambique, but definitely not our last! The decor, linen, and all the little extras made our stay so pleasant. The daily walk to the beach up and down the dune was my personal favorite. We got way more than we expected! Thank you so much, see you next year!!
