The venue itself is magnificent. The views of the ocean and beach from the restaurant and the chalet are stunning. However, there was very limited hot water for showering in our chalet. And the dogs running around in the kitchen, in the bar and restaurant were disgusting. Surely there must be health codes or standards about keeping dogs out of the kitchen and restaurants. The atmosphere also felt like we were visiting a private house instead of a holiday resort. The owners were hogging the tv and remote for the whole weekend. If i can make a suggestion, put a tv in the house of the owners and leave the bar tv for the guests. Or better yet, change the name from resort to guest house.

Establishment's response

Guests are struggling to work the gas heating system for the shower. An electric geyser will be installed at end April 2013 to solve this problem.

The bathroom in the main house needs to be upgraded, the condition of the shower is terrible, the toilet does not flush properly, one of the wooden steps leading into the kitchen was broken - some maintenace is required on the house. Sitting outside on the deck was awesome, the view from the house is stunning.

Excellent holiday thank you very much. Amazing sea view, we lived on the veranda when we weren't at the beach-whale sightings wonderful extra. Safe to park your vehicle at the restaurant if you don't have a 4x4 to get to the house (security guard all night). Steep walk up to the house-good workout (maybe some lights on the walkway for returning at night from the restaurants would be nice). Don't forget a flashlight when walking up at night, it's very dark. Excellent restaurants with cheap meals for great value. Get a (trusted) guide to show you all the hidden beaches and snorkelling places-blougat excellent for snorkelling and kids swimming. Most of them speak english and afrikaans. be careful when driving your 2x4 on the sand, but when you get into trouble (like we did on several occasions haha)there's always quickly willing hands to help you dig out and push. Richard's bread and other baked goods excellent. Vegetables not very good quality and expensive. Didn't see a place to buy meat and chicken. KFC in town self, very nice. Were there for 8 days and could still not figure the shower out-either very hot or cold..but it doesn't really bother you in the heat. Thank you very much for the experience and opportunity Ericka. Hope you enjoy your stay there as much as we did.

The house is simple, but clean and great position overlooking the beach end ocean (which are just wonderful). People are nice and available, the food and drinks at the restaurant/bar are quite good. The fridge was not working properly and making a lot of noise. Negative remark: the entrance door to the chalet is locked by a small external locker, which opens pulling the door with force (we tried). Somebody entered the house, while two people were in the bedroom, and stole my camera! Could be the guards of the owner or some guys hanging around the beachfront, but these last are so nice and so useful to bring you around markets, fishermen, local places helping on prices that we really suggest you to contact them and take them as guides!

Establishment's response

The fridge/freezer was replaced with a new one at end november. The new fridge/greezer is working well and does not make a lot of noise. As far as the missing camera is concerned this is very unfortunate as the resort is very safe and no hawkers etc are allowed inside the resort. In fact at one stage the house could not lock for 13 months and no items went missing. The locking system was fixed to ensure that our guests have a great time while at the resort.
