Casa Ericka was everything we could have hoped for. Great views, good food at the restaurant and friendly staff. We would love to visit again. Highly recommended for families with children. There is a bit of an uphill climb to the casa and older people might not enjoy that. Overall, Casa Ericka was great.

Every thing you could want was there. Clean and tidy, a bargain. With a small car, the sand/beach road was quite difficult to negotiate. Our little I10 could not reach our house and had to be left in the restaurant parking. All our luggage was then carried by porters to our unit. Not suitable for the frail.

The resort exceeded our expectations! We really enjoyed our stay and will go back anytime. We went without a 4X4 and the roads were still fine, it must be a larger vehicle though.

Asked to come down for dinner: restaurant closed! Nowhere it is mentioned that you have to clime about 40 m up a path with the most dangerous and bad steps (1 of us was 80 years). There were no mosquito nets or fans, the bed lamp did not work, the toilet was running. Later they found 2 fans for us. The cupboards in the kitchen were dirty - did not want to use them.5 p.m. they told us we could...

Things to do in and around Xai Xai

Wenela Tidal Pool

(10.5 km from Xai Xai)

Wenela Tidal Pool, two kilometres south of Xai-Xai, is a fascinating natural treasure. The tidal pool has a natural channel that leads underground into the ocean, creating a "blow-hole" effect that is something to be seen.

The Lagoa Uembje (Uembje Lagoon), or Sao Martinho as it was known during colonial times, is an amazing boating and watersports venue. Occasionally open to the sea, the lagoon is separated from Praia do Bilene by a long strip of sand dunes. Try...

Boa Vista

(41 km from Xai Xai)

Drive inside Bilene and take turn left to Villa Nhabanga. Follow Villa Nhabanga boards until you get the board "Boa Vista".

Coconuts Bar

(51.8 km from Xai Xai)

Kick back with an ice cold 2M beer at the beachfront Coconuts Bar in Complexo Palmeiras. Here you can watch DSTV or play a game of snooker.
