cheetah safaris is owned and managed by your hosts, pieter and nicky bothma. we are situated between thabazimbi and lephalale (limpopo province), in the malaria free bushveld, 3½ hours from jhb international airport. the area is blessed with a moderate climate all year round, with a summer rainfall and mild winters. the 11 000 acres is home to an abundance of birdlife and game like rhino, buffalo, giraffe and antelope. here animal and plant still live in perfect harmony, giving guests the opportunity to gain insight into the wonders of nature. our lodge is splendidly situated on the banks of the matlabas river, where guests can indulge in game and bird watching, giving the lodge a character and ambience all of its own. decorated in an african ethnic theme, each of our six thatched en-suite chalets, is a haven of understated luxury and charm. the lodge houses an elegantly furnished games room with a dry bar, pool table, indoor barbecue, digital satellite television, internet access, dining and lounge area. our sparkling rock pool is ideal for cooling off after a long and relaxing day in the african bush. there is a fully equipped kitchen extending to the lapa, where guests can enjoy evenings under African skies, around open campfires. choose self-catering or let us spoil you with traditional south african cuisine. conference equipment is available to help make your conference a success. we can assist companies with organizing various team-building activities, theme evenings, entertainment in the lapa and corporate gifts. game drives and spotlight safaris - enjoy Africa at its best, view more than 21 recorded species including rhino, buffalo and nyala, in luxury game viewing vehicles. guided walks - let our well-trained trackers escort you on walks, stalking animals from rhino to impala or experience a photographic safari while sitting in hides at waterholes watching the game come in to feed and drink. bird watching - this area is a birdwatcher's paradise sporting more than 300 species of birds. anyone even remotely interested in bird life will be enchanted. fishing - our dam is teeming with various fish species. relax and unwind, while the rest of the family has fun canoeing on the matlabas river or swimming in the sparkling rock pool. join us for sundowners or a barbeque on our houseboat the "kingfisher
