Chapa Classic Lodge

Very good value for money. Facilities are excellent, the setting is tranquil and the location is ideal. The staff are very welcoming and always willing to help.

I saw some fairly negative reviews of Chapa before going, so I was a bit nervous. My stay however was excellent, I do not have a single complaint. The staff was incredibly helpful with booking all kinds of events and arranging transportation for me, they even took Euros into town and converted to Kwacha for me when I was having trouble doing so. The room was beautiful, the pool was great, TV worked great, internet was perfect which is always a challenge in Africa. I would not hesitate to stay again, and they will be my first choice.

The Chapa Classic exceeded our greatest expectations. The service was exceptional, including a free overnight car wash. The people were friendly, efficient and helpful, and the rooms large, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The décor is bling meets the '70s, but frankly who cares?

The lodge was quite nice at a very reasonable price. Within walking distance to shops. The whole community is several miles from the falls so do hire a taxi cab driver to take you and stay with you for falls and the bungee jumping bridge bordering Zimbabwe - worth it. They have rain coats at the falls that you need to rent, and rubber shoes. The lodge had a nice TV with three stations available, a lovely unheated pool, nice meals that you could order and complimentary, very nice, breakfast. Especially liked that they picked us up and took us to the airport so that we didn't need to worry about how to get there. Staff very accommodating and speak English. City is safe to walk around in. Rooms were clean. Visit the museum - well worth the $5. Couple of nice reasonable Internet cafés in town. Refreshments (not alcohol) available at the lodge. Be sure to have two full hours to get to airport when leaving the country.
