Cedar Peak Guest Farm

Description

Cedar Peak is a mountain-top farm located 180 km from the V&A Waterfront, reached via the beautiful Dasklip Pass. Situated in the Groot Winterhoek Conservancy, the farm borders the well-known private Beaverlac Nature Reserve and is approximately 10 km from the entrance to the Groot Winterhoek Nature Reserve. The farm also falls within the Greater Cederburg Biodiversity Corridor, recognised for special protection due to high levels of biodiversity.

The farm looks onto several mountain ranges, down into the Olifantsriver valley, and the lights of Citrusdal can be seen from the verandah at night. A large portion of the farm consists of Table Mountain sandstone rock formations. Their weird and wondrous shapes make this farm a truly special place. As the last farm on a road to nowhere, guests can enjoy peace and solitude.

The old main farmhouse comprises four bedrooms, two complete bathrooms, a huge verandah, and sizeable living area. The house can comfortably accommodate four adults and four children. There are two bedrooms with double beds, a children's room with a double bunk, and a further bedroom with two single beds. One of the rooms with a double bed also has an additional single bed, especially suitable for small children who want to sleep in the same bedroom as their parents. Good quality linen and towels are also supplied. The house has been furnished with period Cape cottage furniture and there are some beautiful items of restored furniture. The kitchen is fully-equipped and the house also features a large fireplace in the lounge and barbecue facilities.

In addition, we offer a two-bedroom self-catering cottage with exquisite views. Features include riet ceilings, a Dover stove, and antique furniture. One room has a double bed and one room has two single beds. The unit is fully-equipped for self-catering, with linen, bedding, and bath towels supplied.

Great for those that love the wilderness

Great location for those that love the wilderness, especially hiking. Would definitely recommend it. Accommodation is basic so don't expect any frills, and bring plenty of mozzie spray!
Perfect weekend

This was the perfect get-away-from-it-all weekend. Great cottage and the biggest plus point - no television! Still had cellphone reception despite the remote location. The selection of walking trails were excellent, and we saw an abundance of wildlife like baboons, klipspringers and plenty of birds and small animals. The farm staff were friendly and responsive!
Stunning
