We choose places that offer QUIET, beautiful scenery, birding, privacy and good food (that we dont have to cook!),so as to escape our hectic lives . Carryblaire was exactly what we wanted. we have every intention of making this retreat a regular haunt!!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. Our hosts Dave and Tess were wonderful and extremely accommodating. We highly recommend this establishment as we had relaxing fun time. Anyone who wants to get away for a weekend this is a must. Only an hour out of Johannesburg and you are in the country side. Top marks to the hosts we'll be back.

Only an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and nestling on the banks of the Vaal River near Parys, Carryblaire River Retreat embodies peace, tranquillity and a sense of oneness with nature.
With its own natural island and being a bird sanctuary the views offered at Carryblaire are breathtaking and some of the most beautiful.
The Yellowfish that leap through the water are considered to rival Trout in their ability to entice fishermen in a challenge of wits, while the calls of the nesting Fish Eagles remind us of their superiority in the air.
Drink in the beauty and serenity around you, and let us and nature do the rest.
Carryblaire River Retreat can accommodate 24 people in 11 Double rooms. Accommodation options include Dinner & Breakfast or just Breakfast.
Meals consist of healthy and wholesome farm style cooking, served in the dining room in the main lodge with stunning views overlooking the river. Regret no children under the age of 12 years.
Conference Venue includes use of all equipment tea/coffee snacks and lunch.

| Decoratively inspired by elements from African nature all our rooms have thatched roofs and mosquito nets and are scattered with antique pieces... All rooms have views of the River. The rooms are equipped with tea & coffee facilities and fridges and are fitted with fans and for the winter months with electric heaters and electric blankets... Rooms can be made up as King Size or two single beds on request and have full en-suite bathrooms... Regret no children under the age of 12 years. |
