Canon Village

We spent two nights at the Canyon Village, unforgettable! The "village" is situated between the rocks and a mountain, very remote, but we did not miss any comfort. The management and the staff are very service orientated and made our stay very comfortable. Highly recommended! Wish I could stay there more often.

What an amazing short stay we had! We highly recommend staying at the Canon Village when visiting the Fish River Canyon. The setting is special, the staff are warm and helpful and the food was delicious. We plan go back for a longer visit in the future.

Embedded in a wonderful environment the Canon Village offers a few easy hike trails. It also is quite close to the breath-taking Fish River Canyon. Accomodation in semi-detached stone cottages is okay, although we had problems with the shower and would have loved a fridge to keep drinks and cheese etc. cool. Some other minor obstacles were not satisfactorily solved, the fridge at the swimming pool was locked, bath towels were not enough for all guests, no coke ... The breakfast was good, but not overwhelming, the dinner buffet was - compared what we were used at other places - a bit boring. Also, it was difficult to come to an agreement about the price for a vegetarian dinner - they expected us to have just the salad and veg but pay the whole price. However, we came to an agreement. The staff is friendl but not always competent and sometimes a bit slow. So, the value we got for the money was not satisfactory. We would have expected the basics. All in all, we would try something else next time.
