Facilities

Matyholweni, which means “in the bush” in Xhosa, is located near the coastal town of Colchester at the Sundays River Mouth, 3 km off the N2 highway. Matyholweni is easily accessible and provides a second gateway into the park. Amenities such as shops, restaurants and a fuel station are available in the nearby town.

Very nice time spent at Addo! Our chalet was neat and clean and we have enjoyed the scenery. Lots of wild animals were seen and we've even been so lucky to see the lions!

We arrived there around 18h00 to find reception closed, but a guard waiting. After some difficulty getting our key from the guard, we eventually got to the chalet which was very pleasant. In all, it was a great bit of time off.

Very good standard of accommodation in a lovely setting. There are restaurants, fuel and supermarket shopping available close by in Colchester. The drive through the park to Addo main camp is very worthwhile and the wildlife viewing en-route spectacular.
