Description

Cameron's Cottage is on a farm 15 minutes from the town of Cathcart on the road towards Hogsback.

The cottage offers an expansive and uniterrupted view of sheep pastures and the natural slopes of the Thorn River Valley beyond. One can snuggle up to a log fire in winter, or embrace the beauty and silence of the landscape all year round.

Guests have 1600 hectares of farmland to explore. Middledrift Farm is well known for its richness of bird and plant species, including an exceptional population of cycads E. Frederici-guilielmi.

Those interested in history can explore the ruins of an 1870s era settlement, or visit San rock paintings. The farm offers Bass angling on two dams. For sports lovers golf, tennis and bowls facilities are 15 minutes away in the historic town of Cathcart.

Our stay was blissful. Our hosts were wonderful, the cottage was heavenly and the scenery was out of this world. In other words, we had a fabulous two days and would recommend anyone staying here for a tranquil, relaxing and peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

A nice little nest in nature with a wonderful view and very warm guests. A definite stop for the ones loving the nature, the quietness, and the nice comfort next to the fire when its cold.

Although we only spent Saturday evening and half of Sunday morning at Cameron's Cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back for a longer visit in the future. Nigel and Heather were very hospitable and the cottage itself was wonderfully equipped and very tidy. The view from the cottage, particularly at Sunrise was outstanding and all round it was a wonderful experience. We can highly recommend the cottage which is one of the countries hidden treasures!
