Bushara Island Camp
About Bushara Island Camp
If you are you on your way to see the mountain gorillas or just looking for a retreat on your journey, come to Bushara Island Camp, a popular facility located on Lake Bunyonyi, which means "Lake of the Little Birds". The first of its kind, the camp is a stopover to and from gorilla tours, a bird-watcher's haven, and a private place for retreats.
This small island is peaceful, safe, natural and intriguing to day visitors and families, and a sanctuary for the weary traveller. The perfect location to get away from it all, Bushara Island is a wonderful place to relax in comfort surrounded by nature. The green hills and papyrus swamps offer many opportunities for bird watching, while eucalyptus trees and shady nooks along private paths provide quiet places to sit and read a book.
Bushara Island Camp offers a range of safari tents, cottages, and group sites to meet the needs of the lone traveller, couples, groups, and families. All safari tents and cottages are self-contained and offer privacy as well as a beautiful view of the lake.
