Buffalo Hills Game Reserve & Lodges is a malaria-free game reserve located 15 km from Plettenberg Bay and 35 km from Knysna. You will find giraffe, leopard, wildebeest, kudu, bontebok, eland, impala, bushbuck and over 150 identified bird species. Scheduled safari game walks and 4x4 safari drives include viewing of game, primary indigenous forests and unique fynbos with a tour and tasting at our famous Nyati Distillery.
We offer luxury en-suite accommodation with snacks and drinks in the boma, around the fire and under the stars. This is followed by a traditional dinner with your hosts in our unique Buffalo Restaurant. Rates are inclusive of dinner, bed and breakfast, an afternoon game drive, a morning game walk and a distillery tour.
Frogging and astronomy are optional extras, but are very weather dependent. New to Buffalo Hills are guided and self-guided mountain biking and walking trails with both family trails and extreme trails. We also offer trail running and the Ox-wagon trail which is a three night, fully portaged hiking or mountain biking trail with all meals inclusive, as well as one night in our Elephant Gorge Lodge with a nocturnal hike after dinner. The buffalo experience you will remember as a highlight of your holiday and by doing so, you will realize our dream to conserve our unique valley and its heritage.

African Safari: We offer scheduled safari game walks and 4x4 safari drives.
Family: Children can partake in all the activities and are also a part of the evening experience.
Food & Gastronomy: Dinner is a whole experience with a boma fire and South African cuisine.
Great Outdoors: There is the world's highest bungee jump, Tree Top Canopy Tours, Ocean Blue Whale Safaris, sea kayaking, Mountain Bike Africa, the Tenikwa Walk, walking with elephants, the Woodcutters Journey and the Keurbooms River Cruise.
Wedding Venues: We can accommodate small, intimate weddings of two to 30 guests.
Conference venue: We can have up to 30 delegates and the package includes dinner, bed and breakfast, teas, the conference facility, a game drive, guided walk and a distillery tour, plus mampoer tasting.
