Mbingu Lodge

Description

Mbingu Lodge is a spacious double-storey house in an unspoilt and secluded bush. We have a Bush Centre and Trading Post Centre. These provide a petrol station, supermarkets, a hardware store, bottle store, curio shop and a laundromat. There is also a bar and restaurant with a swimming pool and a large screen TV.

There are two twin en-suite bedrooms, a double en-suite bedroom, a spacious lounge, dining room and a well equipped kitchen. Guests have use of the splash pool, braai and large entertainment area. A permanent waterhole is situated approximately 50 m from the house, which encourages the movement of animals through the property. A daily cleaning service can be arranged at an extra cost. A small library provides books and publications on nature and novels, as well as some games.

Marloth Park is a private residential nature reserve with free-roaming game bordering the Kruger National Park at the Crocodile River. There have been over 350 species of birds recorded in the area making it a birdwatchers paradise. After dark, you can identify the constellations in an unpolluted sky and absorb the sounds of the African night. Watch out for the red eyes of the bush babies that love to jump through the trees. You can enjoy close visits with much of the wildlife in Marloth Park. Animals such as giraffe, impala, kudu, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, bushbuck and duiker are frequent visitors.

Awesome.
Jacques Basson, South Africa

Awesome. We arrived to be greeted by a warthog at the front door (after meeting Dawn with the keys) and a herd of zebra at the stoep. The place was neat and clean and perfect for a family with children. We will most definitely return.
Awesome weekend

This was truly an amazing experience for all of us. The place was clean and everything that we requested was supplied. We would like to go back there next year since it has been one of the best bush experiences I have had!
Great place in a great location

We had a wonderful time at the Mbingu Lodge. It is like having a large beach house, except it is in the bushveld. Marloth Park is near to Kruger, but not in it, which is good. The animals here are increasingly habituated to humans, and we had kudu and zebra come to beg for handouts when we had our braai on the large deck. At night you will hear all the sounds of the bushveld. The large house has three large bedrooms with three full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped. The gener ... more

It was such a shame we only spent a weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was great - lots of animals the place was spotless - will be back.
