Bridgeway Self-catering is situated 8 km from the town of Kokstad and offers basic self-catering accommodation in a country environment.

Guests have a choice of staying in one of eight units, one of which is a dorm and the bedrooms are furnished with either double or single beds, or a combination of both. Each unit has a private bathroom with a bath, shower or both. Linen, towels and heaters are provided and each unit has a small kitchen equipped for self-catering with a stove, microwave, fridge, cutlery, crockery and tea and coffee facilities. Secure parking is available and guests can make use of the provided barbecue facilities while enjoying a view of Mount Currie.

Kokstad offers a variety of attractions and activities in the area. Guests can visit the three reserves in the area, one of which is the Mount Currie Nature Reserve and home to over 220 bird species, and the Crystal Dam which provides fishing and boating opportunities. The Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park protects a high level of endemic and globally threatened species, especially birds and plants, and contains many caves and rock shelters with the largest and most concentrated group of rock paintings in Africa, made by the San over a period of 4000 years.

It was horrific! We arrived after 17:00 and the unit we had booked wasn't even cleaned. The units were dirty, bedding was visibly old,dirty and torn and the owners were very unprofessional. We subsequently stayed in various self catering units in the same price range. The difference was incomparable. These people obviously should not be in the tourism industry.

This place is awesome! It is a complete self-catering lodging so expect no luxuries...but the spirit of the people/hosts there give the basics a 5 Star enhancement! The basics are actually fairly good...thank you Bridgeway! Don't abuse them, yet arriving at 01:30 (having been updating the hosts on phone as we drove closer) and still being welcomed so seemlessly was a blessing on the trip.
