Bongwe Safaris Lower Zambezi

Bongwe Safaris Lower Zambezi offers a fully inclusive stay in riverside chalets, in a lovely lodge on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. The lodge offers guests a choice of five thatched chalets, which enjoy a lovely view of the river. Each chalet is furnished with comfortable twin beds with mosquito nets and has an en-suite bathroom with a hot-water shower and a toilet. Electricity is not available so there are no fans or air-conditioning, but the gauze-covered windows will allow breezes and will keep guests close to nature. Each chalet also has a private balcony where guests can sit and watch the river and animals.

The menu offers 3 hearty meals each day. Tea, coffee and bottled water are provided throughout the day and a basic cash bar is available for those that want something a little stronger. The lodge has staff that will take care of the laundry and service the chalets, and a guide will be with guests throughout the duration of the safari.

Game viewing begins the moment the guests step out of their chalets each morning and it is common to have elephants wander through the camp. The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of the better-known, yet smaller parks in Zambia. Exploring this area offers guests a wide selection of exciting predator sightings and a myriad of beautiful bird life. Whether you are an angler or a big game enthusiast, the Lower Zambezi has it all.

The Lower Zambezi package offers the ideal getaway and we can guarantee the picturesque beauty that other parks cannot bring. This package includes all meals, game drives, night drives, canoeing, sunset cruises and park fees.

Day 1: 6.30am we recommene you start your road transfer from Lusaka 4 hours. Lunch in camp followed by an afternoon boat cruise with sundowners. Back to camp for dinner.

Day 2: Early breakfast, followed by an all-day game drive in the park. Lunch, sundowners and a night drive back to camp for dinner.

Day 3: Morning game drive. Return to camp for brunch. After a little relaxing it is time for an afternoon canoe safari, sundowners on the river and another night drive back to camp.

Day 4: Morning boat cruise with perhaps a spot of fishing. Back to camp for full breakfast, then a return transfer to Lusaka arriving mid-afternoon.
