Birdsong Cottage is nestled into the side of the hill overlooking the forest and the lower reaches of the mountain. The centrally located Champagne Valley is a superb holiday destination situated just two hours from Durban and three to four hours from Johannesburg.

There are three bedrooms with private bathrooms. The main bedroom has a sliding door that opens onto a short wooden deck. The dining and lounge areas open onto a large wooden deck overlooking a lake, forest and the rolling hills of the lower Berg. There is a modern kitchen with a dishwasher and fine crockery. There is a daily cleaning service for your comfort and there is full DStv in the lounge, as well as a DVD player, a selection of books, games and playing cards for your enjoyment. During the winter months, the Jetmaster fireplace quickly heats the living area to a cosy level of comfort. The bedrooms have fans for the summer and radiators for the winter.

During the early mornings and evenings, bushbuck and duiker may be seen from here. Other animals found in the immediate area include, serval, porcupine, jackal, baboon, vervet monkeys and several species of mongoose as well as the Cape clawless otter. A nearby Vultures Restaurant ensures frequent overhead sightings of the Cape vulture.
