Facilities

Ben’s Cottage is situated on the large Zandrivier Farm, 65 km from Laingsburg. The cottage offers a private and romantic getaway in a beautiful setting. It sleeps two people and offers beautiful views of the Elandsberg Mountains and farmlands.

This cosy cottage offers all the luxuries from home and is located close to the main farmhouse. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, small oven, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Electricity is provided and there is 3G and cellphone reception. There is a braai area outside and the farm has dams where guests can go for a walk to have a swim and cool down. We will provide wood and farm bread on request.

The farm offers a variety of activities or guest can simply relax and enjoy the environment. The farm is located about 1200 m above sea level and enjoys snowfall during most winters. Guests can enjoy the walking trails on the farm and feel free to bring mountain bikes. Zandrivier is a sheep and goat farm where we encourage children to interact with the animals.

Our week at Ben's Cottage was wonderful! Quiet and peaceful, without being isolated. Ben was a gracious host that never intruded, but was helpful, informative and shared his knowledge of the area. Great place from which to explore the trendier Karoo towns and some hidden gems. I will never see the Karoo in the same light again. Would recommend Ben"s Cottage and Stone cottage to all. (Not to forget the delicious freshly baked bread).
